Hey everybody, unfortunately nothing really exciting happened this week. I was sick for a good 4 of 5 days, i missed one day on my immersion classes and didn't participate in any of the events :( I am feeling better tho. I had some sort of sinus infection. Everyone here keeps saying it was because the climate here is so dry. I went to the pharmacy and explained to the pharmacist what was wrong with me and he gave me some medicine that really helped.
My immersion classes were fun. I got a certificate too! I am glad they are over tho, because that means that my classes at the university started! (which is why I'm here) I had my first class yesterday. I arrived to class 30 minutes early and just sat in the classroom and waited for people to show up. the class was supposed to start at 1:30. Around 1:25 I started thinking that maybe I'm in the wrong place, of maybe we didn't have class today. I waited till 1:30, no one showed up so i packed up all my stuff. As soon as i stood up to leave 2 girls walked in. they asked me if i was here for the Geography of Spain class, i said yes and they said they were too. Then Katya showed up. all we were waiting on was the professor. She showed up 15 minutes later like nothing was wrong :) We has a short class and I think I'm really going to like it. There are about 5 to 8 of us so we are a small class. the teacher said that because of this we are going to get to take trips during cl;ass time to see the geography of Spain first hand. The teacher is very nice and understanding of the international students (Katya and me).
I had a class today but i think I'm not going to take it because it has nothing to do with secondary education. The class is called Juego, Ritmo y Movemiento. I thought it was something completely different than what it actually is but it is actually a class that teaches you rhymes and dances to teach to kids from infant to 6. The good thing about the University system here is that I have until the end of October to decide on the classes I want to take. All i have to do is attend different classes until i find ones i like and then turn in a form at the end of Oct that tells the classes that I have decided to take.
I have meet a few people now so i have some friends. I have also joined Spain's version of facebook. Its called tuenti (pronounced "twenty"). you have to be invited to join so the girl across the hall invited me because she said that all the people here have it and its how everyone communicates and makes plans. It pretty interesting but it is basically like facebook in Spanish with a different layout.
The rest of this week should be pretty interesting tho because i have lot of welcome meetings and parties and trips going on so ill have a lot to update you guys on later in the week, probably on Sunday :)
