Visita al Instituto Cervantes y al Círculo de Bellas Artes, 6 de oct de 2010

(sorry, I'm updating this blog a little backwards) On Wednesday, October 6th 2010 I skipped class and went to the Instituto Cervantes and el Círculo de Bellas Artes with Erasmus.  The Cervantes Institute is the center of Education for the Spanish language.  They are like the official institution for learning Spanish. If you get a certificate for you level of Spanish from them it is accepted all over the world.

During the time we went, they had a exhibition of Mexican art called México Ilustrado.

This building used to be a bank before Cervantes Institute bought it so there is still a vault in the basement of the building.

Almost all of the lock boxes are empty but they are starting to allow members of the Cervantes Institute to have a lock box in this vault.

Next we went to the Círculo de Bellas Artes.  This is a building that has a museum inside.  It is also the location for many formal events such as fancy parties and weddings.  It also has an old theater inside and you can climb up to the top and  see the best view of Madrid!
